computer virus

Are anti-virus software suites worth running on my computer? Are they resource hogs? How good is their coverage? Which is the best of the major providers?

Yes they do worth running.

And they also consume resources from your computer.

Coverage is not 100%. Cyber crime is a big business so they are always one step ahead. Personally I noticed expensive firewalls that our clients use, with yearly expensive services to let ransomware pass through.

But on the other hand don’t you want to keep your documents, files and pictures safe ?

We cannot suggest any major provider. Most do more or less a good job.

Education about threats can cover that part that antivirus companies do not.
