I personally believe the number of users is too high to go for online storage.
We have clients with mailboxes from 20GB to 120GB.
How can you backup locally such data ?
Can you imagine how expensive that will be ?
How sure are you that the company can compensate you for such a loss?
Most SLAs state about small compensation amounts.
Big names like Facebook, Google, Uber, Yahoo etc were hacked and data were exposed. How sure are we that an online system is safer than an on-site one we design ourselves ?
